About Us

We estimate that there are 12,290 eligible individuals age 30-39. Ohio data indicates that 8,547 of that estimated group are served and 3,961 of those served are living with family. We estimate that 3,743 of individuals ages 30-39 are unserved.

We assume that most unserved eligible individuals in this group live with family.

These are individuals at some risk of living in Double Jeopardy families today and at high risk ten years from now.

Overview/History

BeauVita was created as a 501C charitable organization with the purpose of providing housing in a community setting for adults with developmental disabilities. The goal of BeauVita is to provide an opportunity for adults with disabilities to choose where and with whom they wish to live. The following Business Plan explains and justifies the need for housing choices and provides the framework for reaching that goal within 5 years.

BeauVita was established in 2007 by a group of parents who have children and young adults with disabilities.  Concerned at the limited number of options for housing, we intend to provide a welcoming, safe environment that offers maximum independence and personal lifestyle choices. Based on current waiting lists for housing in Hamilton County for the developmentally disabled, the need for residential options is urgent.

Vision Statement

The vision of BeauVita is for adults with developmental disabilities to have the opportunity for:

Objectives

BeauVita residential services will create choices and opportunities for both current and future generations by providing needed housing for persons with disabilities. Based on data from Hamilton County Department of MRDD, the number of individuals on waiting lists for housing is significant, and the wait period often exceeds 15+ years. By providing quality housing, BeauVita will help reduce the wait time for many individuals.

In addition to housing BeauVita’s objective is to provide resident services that help to:

  1. Create a healthy lifestyle for these individuals that will result in less dependency on medical support services.
  2. Improvement in mental health.
  3. Provide cost effective, reliable and caring support and transportation services, therefore reducing the dependency on expensive, outside agencies.
  4. Provide a social return to the community by providing opportunities for our residents to become productive citizens in our society.
